Its official! Following two and a half years of hard work behind the scenes, we are delighted to finally announce our appointment as NOMA’s digital strategy partner.
For the uninitiated, NOMA is an innovative and modern 20-acre redevelopment scheme set in Manchester’s city centre. It’s a living, breathing, evolving neighbourhood; a mixed-use location designed to meet the needs of modern businesses with a real community at its heart.
Driving the project are the Co-operative Group and Hermes, two like-minded businesses that take a long-term view of Manchester’s future. Working collaboratively, the 50/50 partners are utilising their complimentary skills to transform NOMA from a set of ideas into a reality.
A large part of the project’s unique vision lies in its desire to create a ‘truly connected’ neighbourhood… Which is where we come in! Since its inception, the team at NOMA saw digital as integral to achieving this ambition and wanted to experiment with innovative ways it could be weaved into the development. As a result, mN have been working closely with NOMA to define a digital strategy that will work in harmony with their broader aspirations and help achieve their aim of becoming one of the most connected neighbourhoods in the world.
mN have already created a series of projects and pilots for NOMA that experiment with the relationship between digital and physical space. Most recently, we worked with NOMA to deliver ‘#NameOurSquare’, a social media campaign to find a name for their new public realm that opens to the public later this week.
We love working on innovative projects like this and can’t wait to test out new ideas and concepts to help achieve NOMA’s goals. In the four years since the project began, the neighbourhood vision has really started to take shape, with new buildings like 1 Angel Square (the Co-op’s HQ) having a dramatic impact on the urban skyline. We are incredibly excited to be part of such an ambitious project and are setting out to create work that will help put Manchester at the forefront of urban innovation. Watch this space!
