This is… a new kind of University experience

We teamed up with the University of Manchester to provide useful and timely information for students using large format screens embedded into their new Alan Gilbert Learning Commons building. We joined the project at construction stage (we love a hard hat!) and created a collection of applications allowing students to locate free PCs, check meeting space availability and locate services within the building. Feedback from students has been overwhelmingly positive and future plans include a way for students to interact with the external screen and control the content displayed. The building won a 2014 Guardian University Award. Described as the UK’s first truly digital library, it won the Facilities Project category, which is awarded to a project that has positively enhanced the experiences of students and staff on campus.

The University of Manchester has the largest student community in the UK with over 40,000 students (including 9,000 International students).

This is… engaging education

We joined forces with BBC Learning to produce a suite of learning activities for Bitesize – the BBC’s secondary school revision resource - specifically designed to help Key Stage 3 students engage with the ICT (Information Communication Technology) Curriculum. The activities give 11-14 year olds interactive ways to aid their study covering a broad range of topics.

In 2013 more than 185,000 schoolchildren used the activities to help in their revision.
