Designing ‘Build Back Better’
Jun 23 2020
Here in Manchester the GM Local Enterprise Partnership recently launched the Build Back Better vision in partnership with Mayor, Andy Burnham, setting out our ambition for a post-COVID GM that doesn’t go back to normal, but moves forward for better.
“In planning our recovery, it’s important to pause and reflect on what we’ve seen and learned during these difficult past few weeks. As a society, we’re experiencing an unprecedented moment in time – a rare chance to step off the treadmill and consider our lives and our futures. In a recent survey, only 9% of people wanted to return to life just as it was pre COVID-19. Because our old normal didn’t prioritise the things the majority of people actually value the most. But as Einstein famously said, “In the middle of difficulty lies opportunity”.”
We were delighted to be able to contribute by designing the Build Back Better identity, taking on the challenge of creating something that represents the spirit of this emerging movement, yet is still universal and easy to apply.
Build Back Better is something for everyone to be a part of, so top of our priority list was creating a logo that’s accessible to anyone who wants to use it – those who want to set a new course and build a better future for all.
