Femtech: it’s all about balance
Oct 30 2019
Menopause. Not a word you’re used to seeing at the start of a news article? Well that’s about to change, thanks to a brand new femtech product we’ve been excitedly working on under the radar.
Now that we’ve got your attention, it’s time to focus on why this part of the growing femtech industry is such an important one. It’s been an inspiring journey so far, and we can’t wait to see what the future holds for this new service.
As with all good products, especially those concerned with health and wellbeing, it’s been absolutely vital for us to get as close as possible to the people (menopausal women in this case) who’ll be using the end result. Through this audience understanding, we’ve been able to progress the concept to a proposition that’s centred around a huge number of women’s real life experiences of menopause and perimenopause. After conducting our own research, we found that 70% of the women we spoke to* were unaware of menopausal and perimenopausal symptoms when they first experienced them. Ongoing user engagement throughout the development process has allowed us to make this new service is as useful and impactful as possible.
And so we’re delighted to introduce balance, from Newson Health.
The brainchild of renowned menopause expert, Dr Louise Newson, balance stems from a passion to help as many menopausal and perimenopausal women as possible. In collaboration with an amazing team of other women, we’ve been able to connect our varying areas of expertise to create something that will provide the critical care and information needed to empower women to make the right decisions for themselves and for their changing bodies.
The app is designed to help women through a phase of their lives that is poorly understood and can often be incredibly lonely and difficult. It’s a project and mission that we’re delighted to be part of can’t wait to tell you more about it when we launch in Spring 2020.
